Five stalwarts assembled in good time for the first time this year at Wicksteed Park Model Boat Club for an RG65 and similar boat Club Competition. The course was a set as a double upwind downwind dog bone with spreader buoys at each end. The weather was quite warm with a moderate 10 to 12 mph wind with occasional gusts.
We applied our new approach this time with respect to timing and overall management of the event by giving specific timing calls of eight and one minute calls before the final minute, and then started without delay. This proved that 8 races could easily be achieved in the morning.
There was one new RG65 called Stick of the Sea made by Peter Shepherd, as pictured here on the left. Martin and Arnold had their Jiff 65's and Paul had his Pal Joey. Bob turned up with his Victoria.
We had planned for eight races so as to finish by noon, which we duly did. There was some close racing and eventually we had two ties that were decided on count back
